The video was wonderful!! Thank you so much! You did a wonderful
job with it. Everyone seemed to love the video -- there was lots of laughter
and good-natured commentary throughout…In retrospect,
I think that watching that video was the only thing that everyone
did together. At the picnic and at the cocktail party, people
spoke to others in small groups; at the dinner, we sat at
several tables. However, while watching the video, we were
all together as a group -- with people looking around at others
when they were featured in a picture or to smile when a picture
evoked a particular memory. Truly, for me it was one of the
high points of the reunion.”
Video Yearbooks
A yearbook is fun, but rather than something that just sits
on the shelf, why not have a video memory of your school year,
complete with interviews with the students? A video yearbook,

Original videos vary in length depending on project, but most
run between 10-20 minutes. Our professional experience has
shown that 15 minutes tells a wonderful story, and is just
enough time to keep an audience captivated!
Creating an Alma Mater Film is easy. Knowing your time is
limited, we have developed a video production process that
is streamlined, efficient, and customized to your school’s
needs:
Identifying your needs
For reunion videos: We usually work
with a reunion committee representative as our point
person and do our collaborating via email. Coordinating
materials can be stressful, so we give very specific
directions for collecting old photos and video from
classmates. We also convert all photos and materials
to digital format, so there is no harm of precious hard
copies getting lost in the shuffle! You can send us
photos by regular mail or we can pick up your materials
in person.
For video yearbooks: If your school
is creating a video yearbook, we can schedule time to
come and videotape the school “in action,”
including filming student activities and special events.
Our field producer can also interview students, using
questions prepared by you or with help from us, to bring
out the best memories from the school year. We find
that these individual encounters really help personalize
the video yearbook package.
Creating the video: Once we have all
your materials, we get to work creating your customized
Alma Mater Film. We will be in touch throughout the process
so we can respond to any questions or ideas that you may
have.
Reviewing the proof copy: We will mail
you one “director’s cut” that you can
proof and review before we produce the final cut.
Producing the final version: Once we
have incorporated your feedback on the proof, we will send
a final DVD to the reunion committee representative or video
yearbook coordinator. In addition, we can also create DVD
copies as keepsake gifts for alumni or for resale as video
yearbooks to the graduating class.
