Home Video that’s Entertaining and Fun: Time Capsule
Films Creates Movies made from Real Memories
For people who have stacks of digital media but very limited
time, Time Capsule Films offers an easy way to preserve home
video and relive memories by creating customized videos for
every occasion.
May 31, 2006 – Time Capsule Films ("TCF")
a San Francisco-based production house announces the expansion
of its offerings to include packages for families, special
occasions, and schools.
Time Capsule Films (originally known as Itty Bitty Videos)
was founded in 2002 by Elisabeth Roberts, a seasoned television
producer. When Elisabeth’s first baby was born, she
(like most new parents), spent hours behind her video camera,
anxious to capture every cute moment and darling sound. But
when she wanted to share the footage, she found herself desperately
fast forwarding to locate the few good shots she remembered
filming. Frustrated, she decided to use her professional skills
to edit the highlights of her video and produce a short piece,
complete with music and fun effects, which would capture her
memories and entertain her family. The resulting video was
a big hit and, when Elisabeth’s friends began clamoring
for her help, she realized she had discovered a unique business
niche.
Her clients were grateful for her help and excited about
the videos she produced, which made great gifts and wonderful
keepsakes.
“With two year old twins and a new baby on the way,
I was desperate to find a special gift for my parents that
would require almost no work on my end,” recalls Jennifer
Boyd, a mother of three who commissioned her first Time Capsule
Film in 2003. “Elisabeth was fantastic- she did everything
and produced a video that was funny, moving and unforgettable.
It entertained everyone, from my parents to my toddlers!”
After three years of creating customized video scrapbooks
for new parents, Elisabeth’s clients began to come to
her with video requests for special occasions such as birthday
parties and weddings, where they wanted to both recognize
the guest of honor and entertain the guests. Utilizing her
production skills and gift for story telling, Elisabeth integrated
her clients’ video and photos, along with interviews
she shot with family and friends, to create birthday tributes
and wedding toasts. Her clients loved the results.
Carl Kawaja, a busy executive and father of three, sought
Elisabeth’s help when he was tapped to give the toast
at his brother’s wedding. “It was such a special
occasion, and I wanted something show-stopping,” explains
Carl. “What Elisabeth created surpassed all my expectations.
She interviewed the bride and groom and wedding party, incorporated
photos from their childhoods, and produced a video that literally
brought down the house. Everyone was crying and cheering at
the end, and I felt like a hero for having put it together.”
Another product line that emerged from Elisabeth’s
original customized video business focuses on videos for school
alumni, including reunion videos and video yearbooks.
"Reunion weekend is an exciting, yet extremely busy
time for me,” remembers Ann Rho, Director of Alumni
Relations at Polytechnic School. “ It is important for
classmates to look back on their school years with affection.
Throughout the weekend, there are various activities for classmates
to reconnect to each other and the school culminating in class
dinners on Saturday night. When Elisabeth has done videos
for us, we show them before dinner, and it's a perfect way
to cap off the weekend reunion experience. There is nothing
more potent than pictures and music to bring back all the
memories. In addition, Elisabeth made the process of creating
a reunion video very easy because she does all the work! I
put her in touch with someone on the committee, and she takes
it from there. So, it was one thing I could check off my list."
